Hazardous Materials Regulations may apply and are extremely complex in nature. Biohazard Transportation Laboratory personnel must properly package, transport, and handle any Infectious substances which are used in their research Labeling using the universal biohazard symbol is also required for any infectious biological materials in order to prevent accidental exposure to unsuspecting personnel who may be exposed to the biological material (e.g., couriers, administrative staff, and janitors).Whenever possible, biohazardous wastes should be treated and disposed of on-site.  However, generation of biohazardous wastes in the field is often unavoidable and handling and transport will be necessary.  Please follow the steps below in order to manage and dispose of these materials safely.Hazardous waste transporters are individuals or entities that move hazardous waste from one site to another by highway, rail, water, or air. Hazardous waste transporters play an integral role in the hazardous waste management system by delivering hazardous waste from its point of generation to ultimate destination. This includes transporting hazardous waste from a generator's site to a facility that can recycle, treat, store or dispose of the waste. It can also include transporting treated hazardous waste to a site for further treatment or disposal.
